Terms and Conditions

1. Registration

By registering for any event, participants are automatically subscribed to the MIND Foundation email list. Participants can unsubscribe at any time via the “unsubscribe” link in any of our emails or by requesting it in writing.

Registration fees

Participation fees for seminars, further education, conferences, etc., do not include accommodation and meals unless explicitly stated in the event description. Our participation fees are exempt from VAT according to § 4 Abs. 22a UStG.

Price

The base price for all offers is as stated on https://mind-foundation.org.

Due date of the participation fee

Participation fees are due at least two weeks before the event starts. If registration occurs later, fees are due upon receipt of the registration confirmation. For training and further education, fees are payable proportionally before each stage. Specific payment terms are available on mind-foundation.org, and different methods may be mentioned for individual events.

Always include the order reference when paying. Cash payments in advance of an event incur an additional processing fee of €25 due to administrative costs. A written payment slip will be issued in this case.

 

2. Discounts and Proof of Eligibility

To apply for a discount, please upload your documents that prove qualification for review. The upload takes place during checkout for any discounted offer by the MIND Foundation.

Please note that the income limit for a low-income discount is set at 20,000 Euros per year.

Please upload one of the following documents as proof of eligibility: 

  • Active enrollment certificate (student ID or enrollment letter) 
  • Unemployment certificate 
  • Pension award letter 
  • Bank statements for the past three months 

We guarantee that your documents will be processed in accordance with European data protection guidelines (GDPR). Your data will be handled with care and will be destroyed after the review process. 

If you applied through our DEI Program, review process typically takes up to 5 business days. We will notify you of the outcome via email.

 

3. Accommodation and carpooling

Unless explicitly mentioned, participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation.

We do not assume liability for travel to the venue, including carpools organized by participants. Travel contract law limits our liability to three times the event price (§ 651A BGB).

 

4. Withdrawal from an event by the participant

Cancellation or rebooking of seminars must be in writing (by mail or email) and confirmed by us. The following conditions apply:

Individual event (1 TO 7 DAYS)

  • Up to one month before the event: A processing fee of €75 applies. If the fee has been paid, it will be refunded within 4 weeks minus the processing fee.
  • Within one month before the event: A refund (minus €75 processing fee) is only possible if a replacement from the waiting list takes the reserved spot or if a substitute participant is provided. Otherwise, the full fee is required, minus any saved expenses. This also applies to cancellations due to illness. Refunds may be requested as a voucher for other MIND Foundation events.

Further education (professional training)

  • Up to one month before the start: A processing fee of €75 applies if canceled within 14 days of receipt of participation confirmation. After this, the fee is €150.

  • Within one month before the start: A refund (minus €75 processing fee) is only possible if a replacement from the waiting list takes the booked spot or if a substitute participant is provided. Otherwise, the full fee is required. This applies to cancellations due to illness and termination of training by the participant.

     

5. Statutory cancellation period

The statutory 14-day cancellation period for consumer contracts (§ 355 para. 2 BGB) does not apply to events with fixed dates (§ 312 g para. 2 No. 9 BGB).

Cancellation of events by the MIND Foundation

  • Rights: MIND Foundation may cancel or postpone events due to unforeseen circumstances, low ticket sales, force majeure, or other events beyond our control. We will notify participants promptly using the provided contact information.
  • Refunds: In case of cancellation, participants are entitled to a refund of the ticket price, processed within a reasonable period using the original payment method.
  • Exchanges/Transfers: Participants may be offered the option to exchange tickets for future events or transfer tickets to another person, subject to MIND Foundation’s discretion and written request.

Underbooking of events

If an event is underbooked, we may shorten the event’s duration or reduce the number of facilitators. Participants can terminate their contract if facilitators change, by notifying us at least 7 days before the event.

 

6. Liability

MIND Foundation and its representatives are only liable for gross negligence or intentional misconduct. Liability for minor negligence is excluded, except in cases of breach of essential contractual obligations.

 

7. Physical and mental fitness of the participant

Participants are responsible for their own physical and mental fitness. Liability for impairments due to lack of suitability or non-observance of instructions is excluded as far as legally permissible. Participants with ongoing medical treatment must provide a certificate of fitness from their physician.

 

8. Data protection

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

  • These Terms are governed by German law. The place of jurisdiction is Berlin.
  • Disputes arising from these Terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of German courts.

By participating in or purchasing tickets for an event organized by the MIND Foundation, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
