We are always open for interns to help us build and maintain the MIND Foundation’s projects and programs. Working as an intern is meaningful; interns’ work contributes directly to psychedelic research and education and ultimately helps establish safe and legal spaces for the psychedelic experience. Further, interns may be given opportunities to meet important authors, researchers, and therapists from the fields of psychedelic science, consciousness research, neuroscience, prevention and therapy.
We are very grateful for all the interns and volunteers who have supported us in the past. Some of them share their experiences in our “Hall of Fame”. Check them out if you want to learn more.
Internships at MIND are designed as junior professional roles with real responsibility, not as introductory or observational placements.
As a small, mission-driven, non-profit organization working at the interface of science, public health, and education, we recruit interns selectively. At any given time, and to guarantee excellent mentoring, we can work with no more than three to four interns, each embedded in a clearly defined area of responsibility.
Our interns contribute directly to the development, delivery, and communication of programs that support the responsible integration of psychedelic therapies into public health care.
We are generally interested in applicants who:
MIND operates with a lean structure and high expectations for autonomy and reliability.
Core tools used across all roles
Role-specific tools are used where relevant and introduced during onboarding (e.g., Canva in Marketing).
Interns are expected to become operationally independent within a short period and to work confidently within these systems.
These roles are usually not a good fit for applicants from fields such as art history, religious studies, linguistics, or data science, unless there is a clear and demonstrated overlap with the specific role requirements.
We do not offer exploratory, purely observational, or short-term trial internships.
Focus: Campaign support and content management
Role overview
As a Marketing Intern, you support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns and initiatives through structured content management.
You work within a team that sets strategic goals and priorities. Your primary responsibility is to translate inputs – such as research insights, program updates, or event announcements – into clear, high-quality content for MIND’s digital channels.
Key responsibilities
What this role requires
This role demands a high degree of adaptability, conceptual clarity, and creative problem-solving. Interns must be able to quickly understand complex subject matter – including psychedelic research and therapy – and turn it into accurate, engaging content.
Proficiency with Canva, Asana, Excel, and an understanding of platform-specific logic (especially LinkedIn and Instagram) are essential.
Focus: Educational program development, evaluation, and quality assurance
Status: Core role – usually filled continuously
Role overview
As an APT & Programs Intern, you support the development, delivery, and evaluation of MIND’s educational programs, with a primary focus on the Augmented Psychotherapy Training (APT).
This role sits at the intersection of pedagogy, program design, and implementation. Administrative tasks are part of the role, but always in service of program quality and learning outcomes.
Key responsibilities
What distinguishes this role
This role differs from Operations by focusing on program content, learning design, and evaluation, rather than internal systems or workflows. Interns in this role work closely with senior program staff and faculty and are expected to engage thoughtfully with educational concepts.
Focus: Internal systems, workflows, and digital infrastructure
Role overview
As an Operations & Digital Systems Intern, you help shape the internal structures that allow a small organization to operate efficiently and reliably.
This role focuses on operational leverage: improving systems, clarifying processes, and maintaining digital tools that support the work of all teams.
Key responsibilities
Scope clarification
This role does not involve software development, data science, or IT infrastructure administration. The focus is on applied operational thinking and digital fluency, not engineering.
Focus: Membership growth, engagement, and discourse culture
Role overview
As a Members & Community Intern, you support the growth and intellectual vitality of the MIND Members Association.
This role operates at the intersection of science, public discourse, and community building. It is not a platform maintenance role, but a contribution to institutional community-building.
Key responsibilities
What distinguishes this role
This role is aimed at applicants who enjoy working with networks, facilitating exchange, and shaping environments where intellectual and social interaction can thrive.
