uniMIND Central Session: "Epistemiological issues in Psychedelic-assisted psychotherapies"

We invite you to our regular uniMIND Central Session. This time we will have a  discussion on psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and epistemic pluralism with Maximmilliano Zeller.

A new paper explores concerns that psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy may lead to "false beliefs"—metaphysical views that deviate from common naturalistic frameworks and are seen by some as problematic. The authors argue that dismissing such perspectives as "wrong" is epistemically unjust and advocate for epistemic pluralism and the acceptance of patients' evolving metaphysical understandings.

The paper addresses the "comforting delusion" objection, emphasizes the importance of epistemic agency, and discusses future implications for psychedelic research and therapy.
