APT online event + info talk December

This online meetup on ZOOM will provide you with information about the program and there will be a presentation by Henrik Jungaberle on the following topic:

The Role of Self-Experience in the Professional Identity of Psychedelic Therapists

There is a lively scientific debate about the role of therapists’ self-experience in shaping their professional identity, with some rejecting it and others advocating for it, but very little in between. While personal psychedelic experiences can be a valuable resource for supporting treatment, they may also act as an obstacle to facilitating the change that clients need. In this talk, Henrik will explore the 'how', 'why' and 'under which circumstances' of therapists' self-experience. We will also discuss their impact on clinical practice. It could be that some of the most gifted psychedelic therapists do not need to have had psychedelic experiences themselves, and that their professional competence rests on other foundations.

The MIND Foundation's APT psychedelic therapist program involves well-defined self-experience, but in a way that differs significantly from that of many other curricula. In the second part of the session, Henrik will present core elements of the program.

The meeting in English will take place on Wednesday 17th December, 2025 from 8 to 9 pm.
